How We Adjust
In order to quickly relieve pain, Dr. Pow uses a variety of highly effective adjusting approaches which improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we take with each individual patient is based on our judgment and experience, and the needs of that patient.
Primarily we use these techniques:
- Diversified – After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints. read more»
- ArthroStim - This hand-held instrument applies a series of highly controlled “taps” to misaligned vertebral segments, avoiding the twisting, turning or “cracking” of spinal joints. read more»
Measuring Your Progress
We use a Wellness Score to assess improvement from visit to visit. Items contributing to a Wellness Score include:
- body composition
- blood pressure
- stress level
- hydration level
- resting heart rate
- blood work
- cell health
- core flexibility
- core strength
- neuro-spinal health
We reassess your Wellness Score every 2-3 months, including having new blood work drawn, in order to take a real and measurable look at your progress, and to let you see the visible results.
When we look at your blood work results, we’re looking at things from a different perspective than the medical community would. We aren’t looking for a specific deficiency or a marker of disease, but we’re taking a holistic view to assess the overall quality of your health.
Questions About Being Adjusted?
As a first time patient, we expect you’ll have questions. Dr. Pow will explain how he will adjust you, and answer questions, before providing care.
Adjustments are gentle. Minimal force is applied and the ArthroStim can be used to ensure an even gentler approach, if you are concerned. Most patients have no discomfort.
